Tick. Tick. Tick.
Time to get up. Dress, brush hair, check time. Breakfast? Brush teeth, grab backpack, walk out the door. Get to school and from there go on autopilot. This was May's routine throughout the week. As you can imagine, many a times did May long for something interesting to happen. Tossing on her black t-shirt and navy jeans, May sleepily began to comb her hair.
''Maybe I should leave it down.''
May stared at her long, wavy golden brown hair.
''Yuck.''
After this conclusion, May quickly put her hair up in its usual pony tail. Leaning down May scooped up her backpack and slung it over her shoulders, running down the stairs.
''Bye mom!''
'Another boring day at school. Joy to the world.'
Sighing, May ran to catch up to her friends.
~
''Hey guys.''
May nodded to her two friends sitting on a railing leading up to their first period math class. The one closest to her, Erin, glanced up. Luna was sitting next to her and shrugged. May sighed, leaning on the railing opposite her friends. Erin had her copper color hair tied loosely in a pony tail. Wearing a neon orange hoody and sky blue skinny jeans, she could probably be seen a mile away. Luna, in her own little world, wore the usual pink and gray fleece jacket with cream colored pants.
''So...'' The two looked up at May.
''Do you guys know if anything is going on today?'' Luna thought a moment and the triumphantly gave the days schedule.
''Right after math we have this REALLY long assembly. Since it's near the end of the year, teachers and staff wanna give a big farewell to the grad's.''
She paused, looking down. Remembering what she was going to say next, Luna looked back up.
''After that it's lunch, fourth, fifth, then sixth.''
Erin turned to Luna with a confused look on her face.
''No homeroom?''
''Nope.''
''Sweet.''
''I know.''
May watched them continue their conversation, eyes wandering to the sky. Not a cloud in sight. The sun was almost above them, heating the ground and giving students a good reason to wear shorts and flip flops in the morning. It was mid-June, about two weeks till school was officially out. School. May didn't hate it but after a while you really start wishing for vacation. Speaking of hate, glancing to her side May noticed some kids arguing.
''I didn't say that!''
''Yes, you did.''
''Prove it!!''
In response, two guys came behind the one yelling his innocence. Lane was his name and in this class he didn't really have a place. The other, Ace, looked at Lane with much disgust. All the other classmates noticed the development taking place and decided to come watch. Everyone was quiet as a feeling of anticipation washed over all the students. Luckily, before Lane made a move the bell rang.
~
''This always takes forever no matter how many times we do it.''
''Ya, and it's really stuffy being cramped with all these losers.''
May rolled her eyes in disdain as they stood in line. Everyone was gathering for the big assembly soon to take place. Much to her displeasure, May was in line with a few popular, self-centered, mean girls standing behind her. May groaned and decided to take a look at the surroundings. Gray mats were all over the gym floor. Graduation banners navy in color had silver words saying 'Congrats!' or 'One step closer to your future!'. Speakers were placed in the corners of the gym, big black blocks against the ivory walls. The navy velvet curtains were drawn, welcoming in the sunshine form a giant window. Balloons danced all over the place. When it came her turn May was thankful to be able to sit down.
'I hope this doesn't take too long.'
~
The remaining students and teachers finally got in their places and the assembly was underway. Not long after, about halfway through, a low rumbling could be heard. Most dismissed it as a plane but soon the ground began to shake. As students and teachers quite talking, a large, vigorous shake knocked anyone standing to their knees. That's when all the screaming began. Students rushed, shoving anyone out of the way in attempt to get outside. Dodging people May desperately looked for a quick, fast way down the bleachers. Suddenly, before she knew what was happening May found herself falling. It all seemed to go in slow motion. Students and teachers blured together as the gym floor first came in contact with her hand. Tumbling, May cursed her luck, bouncing up to avoid being trampled. Just as thing seemed they couldn't get worse, they did.
''Oh slag.''
A loud sound could be heard as the wall twenty feet from where May sat collapsed. Smoke billowed out in cloud form, giving cover for falling pieces of ceiling and wall. Screaming, May covered her head as it was bombarded with debris. The gym was all but cleared and now it looked like she was the only one there.
'Swell, now I get to die a retarded death. Being squished but rubble is NOT how I want to go.'
Peering up at the sky May saw death. A giant creature was coming in fast, charging something that looked like a weapon. Staring in horror as the thing came closer, May looked for somewhere to hide. Ducking under a fallen piece of ceiling she waited.
~
It never came. Daring to look, May glanced up to get a look of the attacker. What she saw shocked her to the core. Floating directly in front of what now looked like a purple robot, a significantly smaller orange and white robot was holding the bigger one at bay. Shooting flames from his hands the orange mech unleashed a fury of fire against his opponent. Not quiet registering what was going on, May screamed when a flash of bright purple caused the debris next to her to shatter. Trying to avoid the explosion May ran right into something.
''What the...EEP!!''
It was the head of an unconscious blue and yellow robot. The robot appeared about the same as the orange 'bot. Not like she could tell, the thing was half covered in rubble. Backing up May didn't notice the piece of ceiling fall. The last thing she remembered was the world spinning blue, yellow, orange, white, purple, and finally black.
~
Jetfire stared in horror as he watched his twin, Jetstorm, crash into the building below. Looking back to where Jetstorm was shot Jetfire could see the Decepticon Starscream go into a full nose dive. Reaching high speeds, Starscream charged his lasers and pointed them in the damaged mech's direction. Panicking, Jetfire zoomed after the 'con as fast as he could. Just as Starscream was about to shoot his already unconscious twin, Jetfire came in and immediately began dousing the 'con in the face plate with his flamethrowers. Behind him as he attacked, Jetfire thought his audio receptors picked up someone screaming. Taking his optics off Starscream, Jetfire glanced behind him. Seeing an opportunity, Starscream came in and kicked the flying Autobot square in the head. Letting out a grunt the hit 'bot came crashing to the ground.
~
Groaning, Jetstorm's optics slowly flickered on. Gritting his teeth he looked up to see Jetfire keeping the Decepticon Starscream at bay. Checking his systems, Jetstorm attempted to remove the debris that was scattered all over his dust covered body. Grunting, Jetstorm tried sitting up when he heard a small whimper. Turning to look behind him, Jetstorm could see a small, dusty, little figure collapsed under a heavy piece of ceiling. Reaching over Jetstorm gently lifted the rubble covering the creature. Just as he was about to pick it up a flash of orange came out of the corner of his visor.
''Brother!!'' Jetstorm screamed as the orange mech came crashing down head first, crumpling on impact.
Swiftly turning around Jetstorm unleashed a whirlwind upon the 'con which caused him to fall back on what was left of the gym wall, destroying it. Getting up form the rubble Starscream growled at the smaller blue 'bot. Glancing at Jetfire and then back at Jetstorm, he smirked.
''I'll let you and your pathetic brother live this time but remember, when we next meet I will personally take you both off line, even if it means using my own bare servos!!''
With that Starscream straitened and transformed, a cloud of dust and debris billowing out behind him. Jetstorm, watching to make certain he was really gone, ran over to his now waking twin.
''Brother, is you being okay?''
Jetfire's goggles were shattered and a dark scratch ran across his right cheek. He nodded.
''What about you? Is you being alright brother? That was being one nasty fall.''
Jetstorm nodded. Giving him a servo, Jetstorm helped Jetfire on his feet.
''Brother...''Jetfire looked at his twin and then began scanning the rubble.
''...was you hearing a scream while on ground?''Staring blankly, Jetstorm gave Jetfire a weird look. Suddenly he remembered the whimper.
''I is not hearing scream but I was seeing small creature.''
Looking back at where he had came through the wall, Jetstorm made his way through the debris. Huddled in a ball, the little life form looked much smaller and frail compared to its surroundings. Careful not to cause any more rubble to fall on it, the blue mech cleared the area. Jetfire ran over and peered at the sad looking creature. It wore some sort of cloth that was covered in dust and a bit of red liquid. One sleeve was ripped along the shoulder seem.
''What is you thinking we should do with it brother?'' Jetfire asked as Jetstorm knelt and carefully lifted the delicate figure.
''Help it.''
''We is bringing it back to ship?''
''Yes.''
What about Mr. Sentinel Prime?''
Jetstorm didn't have an answer for that. Looking at the injured creature, now curled in the palm of his servo, he just knew they couldn't leave it alone.
~
It was awhile till May woke up again. For a moment May thought she was dead. Groaning, May slowly opened her eyes.
''Where am I? Why is it so dark....and hard? Since when was the gym floor made of metal?!''
Scared but curious, May tried to sit up. This proved difficult since the back of her head felt like someone took a sledge hammer and waked her with it.
''Man my head must be swollen.''
Muttering to herself and gingerly rubbing her head, May noticed light coming in from small cracks. Scooting over May tried to listen to what was going on outside.
''...Brother, how are we.....the creature....Sentinel....''
''I am not being sure.....make certain...Jazz sir....first.''
'Who are these Jazz and Sentinel dudes?....And why does it sound like I am in Russia?'
Many more questions ran through her head but the one she really wanted to know was, where was she? Outside the voices were talking again only this time louder.
''Brother, be closing door so no one may be seeing.''
May could hear quick footsteps and then a thud. Assuming that was the door, May wondered how she was going to get out. Suddenly whatever she was sitting on started to move as a gap opened up under her. Gasping, May looked for something to hold on to.

I felt it. It was so painful, akin to being torn apart, piece by piece, while slowly being devoured. My spark almost gave out, and I am grateful that Trailbreaker was able to stabilize me. But the worst part of it all? It is the knowledge that he is gone. I feel……incomplete, empty now. I will never see that smile, promising adventure, with a twist of danger. I will never again see that devious grin, as we would skip work, just to waste away days alone, just the two of us. I never will again. They have informed me that we are near Earth, but I do not care. I just want to die, so that I can be with him in the Well of All-Sparks.
